Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound ground game meat (venison, elk or moose)
  • 5 to 6 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1 tablespoon beef bouillon granules
  • 3 tablespoons oil (vegetable oil)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1 can (680 ml) pasta sauce
  • 1 can (10 ounce) mushrooms (with juices)
  • 1 cup tomato juice
  • 1 tablespoon loosely packed chopped fresh basil
  • 1/2 tablespoon loosely packed chopped fresh oregano
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Fresh ground pepper to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: Drizzle the oil in a large skillet and bring to medium-high heat, add the ground meat, garlic, onion, bell pepper, carrot and the beef bouillon granules and cook until the meat is no longer pink adding the water halfway through to stop from sticking.

  • Step 2: Add the wine and continue to cook until evaporated and absorbed by the meat.

  • Step 3: Pour into a crock-pot and add the remaining ingredients.

  • Step 4: Cover and cook over high heat for 4 hours or low heat for 7 hours.

  • Step 5: Enjoy!
