Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 7 ounces dry rigatoni pasta
  • 1 pound Italian sausage (bulk, or ground beef)
  • 1 jar (26 ounce) pasta sauce (tomato basil pasta sauce)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
  • 2 cups cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 11x7-inch (2-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray. Cook pasta only half the time that is on the package, then drain the pasta.

  • Step 2: In a skillet, cook sausage meat over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thoroughly cooked; drain all the fat.

  • Step 3: In a bowl mix together the halfway cooked pasta, beef, pasta sauce and 1 cup of the mozzarella cheese (I always add in more mozza cheese) and cottage cheese, then you add salt and pepper.

  • Step 4: Sprinkle with remaining 1 cup mozzarella cheese and then the Parmesan cheese over the top.

  • Step 5: Bake uncovered 20-30 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
