Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 large yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 cans (16 ounce) stewed tomatoes (cut up)
  • 1 can (16 ounce) tomato sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 2 large green bell peppers, chopped (or more to suite your taste)
  • 1 cup rice (uncooked long grain)
  • 1 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (or more to suite your taste)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a skillet, brown beef.

  • Step 2: Season with salt and pepper. Drain.

  • Step 3: Transfer to a greased 9x13" casserole dish.

  • Step 4: Add the rest of the ingredients, and mix together.

  • Step 5: Cover, and bake at 350 degrees F, for 1 hour, or until rice is tender.

  • Step 6: Uncover, and sprinkle with the cheese.

  • Step 7: Return to the oven until cheese melts, about 5 minutes.
