Step 1: Rinse dried split peas in a colander under cold water.
Step 2: Heat oil in pressure cooker over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and cook until onion is soft.
Step 3: Add potato, carrots, celery, ham bone, marjoram salt and pepper. Cook for 2 minutes.
Step 4: Add peas and water.
Step 5: Cover, lock lid and bring to pressure over high heat. Lower heat to stabilize pressure and cook for 10 minutes.
Step 6: Remove from heat and use quick-release method to drop pressure.
Step 7: Unlock and remove lid. Season with salt and pepper to taste and stir well before serving.
