The ingredients are:
  • 4 ounces chocolate (4 squares Bakers chocolate, grated)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 3 large eggs (whites beaten stiff)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon water (boiling)
  • ICING
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 ounces chocolate (4 squares Bakers chocolate)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 large egg

How to Make

  • Step 1: In double boiler, melt chocolate add half the cream.

  • Step 2: Add the yolks and rest of cream and sugar, beat until smooth. Take off heat.

  • Step 3: In mixing bowl, add salt and flour, mix in cream mixture then mix in baking soda mixed with boiling water.

  • Step 4: Pour into 9 inch floured cake pan.

  • Step 5: Bake 375 for 25 minutes or until done (no time given).

  • Step 6: While cake is baking in double boiler mix frosting together cook until smooth add vanilla when off flame.
