Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 16 ounces yellow onions (2 onions, chopped)
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 (6 ounce) tomato, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper (or to taste)
  • 3 ounces bacon (3 slices, chopped)
  • 4 ounces ham (julienned)
  • Spanish sausages (2 sausages, sliced thin)
  • 1 cup chopped mushrooms
  • 1 cup stock
  • 12 ounces dry pasta (long pasta, such as spaghetti, fettuccine, tagliatelle, etc, pre-cooked weight)
  • Water for cooking pasta
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese (or Parmesan)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat olive oil in a saucepan.

  • Step 2: Add onions and saute for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.

  • Step 3: Stir in tomato sauce, tomato, salt, pepper, bacon, ham and sausages.

  • Step 4: Cover and cook over low heat for 20 minutes.

  • Step 5: Combine mushrooms and stock and add to pot.

  • Step 6: Cover and cook over low heat for 15 minutes more.

  • Step 7: While sauce is cooking, cook and drain pasta.

  • Step 8: Preheat oven to 375°F.

  • Step 9: Layer pasta, cheese and sauce in a greased baking dish. Make as many layers as possible, ending with a layer of sauce.

  • Step 10: Bake for 25 minutes, or until heated through and lightly browned.
