  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 10 ounces smoked cheddar cheese, shredded

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F.

  • Step 2: Place 1/4 of the potatoes in a single layer in the bottom of a 9" round baking dish, overlapping them slightly.

  • Step 3: Brush with 1/4 of the butter.

  • Step 4: Sprinkle with 1/4 of the cheese.

  • Step 5: Add some salt and pepper if you really think it's necessary.

  • Step 6: Repeat layers 3 times, ending with cheese.

  • Step 7: Cover with a piece of buttered foil.

  • Step 8: Bake for 40-45 minutes.

  • Step 9: Uncover and bake until cheese is melted, browned and crusty.

  • Step 10: Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
