  • 1 large lemon
  • 2 1/4 pounds oranges (5 oranges, divided)
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon powdered ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cloves
  • Ice, for serving

How to Make

  • Step 1: Grate the zest of the lemon and one of the oranges. Set zest aside.

  • Step 2: Squeeze the lemon and all the oranges.

  • Step 3: Place juice and zest in a saucepan and add honey.

  • Step 4: Bring to a boil.

  • Step 5: Add ginger, cinnamon and cloves.

  • Step 6: Boil about 5 minutes, or until mixture is reduced by half.

  • Step 7: Strain.

  • Step 8: Pour into a covered container, cool and refrigerate.

  • Step 9: To serve, place a tablespoon of the mixture in a tall glass.

  • Step 10: Fill glass with ice and water.
