Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 1/2 cups grated potatoes (raw)
  • 3 tablespoons yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
  • 1/2 cup light cream
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper (or to taste)
  • 8 tablespoons butter (divided)
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine beef, potato, onions, egg, cream, salt and pepper.

  • Step 2: Mix well and shape into 12 thin patties.

  • Step 3: Melt 4 tablespoons butter in a skillet.

  • Step 4: Saute patties about 7-8 minutes.

  • Step 5: Turn over and saute for 7-8 minutes more.

  • Step 6: Remove and keep warm.

  • Step 7: Melt remaining butter in skillet.

  • Step 8: Whisk in flour.

  • Step 9: Gradually add milk, whisking constantly.

  • Step 10: Bring just to a boil, stirring constantly.

  • Step 11: Reduce heat to low and cook 5 minutes.

  • Step 12: Pour over the meat patties.
