Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 teaspoons oil
  • 1 (8 ounce) yellow onion, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1 teaspoon curry
  • 1 teaspoon ground caraway seed
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 pound ground beef (or pork)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 teaspoons ground walnuts
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 5 teaspoons ketchup
  • 1 chili pepper, minced (as to your taste)
  • 12 ounces potatoes (2 potatoes, grated)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon thyme (for flavouring and garnish)
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 french baguette (16 ounces) bread (sliced, fried in oil, probably like a grilled cheese)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Fry the onions in the oil and as they brown add the red pepper, curry, and ground caraway.

  • Step 2: Quickly mix, or the pepper will get bitter, and add the ground meat.

  • Step 3: Add the broth and cover and cook for 20 minutes stirring.

  • Step 4: Add the walnuts, ketchup, worcestershire, chili peppers and grated raw potatoes. Cover again and cook for another 5 minutes.

  • Step 5: The toast. Add the salt, pepper and thyme to the mixture to your taste.

  • Step 6: Put the mixture on the fried bread slices, sprinkle with cheese,

  • Step 7: Garnish with thyme and broil it in the oven until the cheese melts.
