The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/2 pounds beef round (steaks, cut in 6 pieces, pounded thin)
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon marjoram
  • 1 1/2 pounds white onions (6 small)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons oil (vegetable oil)
  • 1 can (20 ounce) tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons prepared horseradish

How to Make

  • Step 1: Season meat with salt and pepper.

  • Step 2: Sprinkle marjoram on top side of meat.

  • Step 3: Place an onion on each piece of meat.

  • Step 4: Roll up and tie with thread or fasten with toothpicks.

  • Step 5: Roll meat in flour.

  • Step 6: Heat oil in a heavy skillet.

  • Step 7: Add meat and brown on all sides.

  • Step 8: Pour off excess fat.

  • Step 9: Add tomatoes and horseradish.

  • Step 10: Cover and cook over low heat 1 1/2 hours, or until meat is tender.
