Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound buffalo (cut into small cubes)
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 can (14 1/2 ounce) tomatoes
  • 1 (8 ounce) yellow onion,chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 pound corn ears (2 ears of fresh corn, scrape kernels off or use frozen sweet corn)
  • 2 cans (5 ounce) green chiles (the ortega kind)
  • 1 can (15 ounce) kidney beans (red, drained)
  • SEASONINGS
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • FIRE WATER
  • 3 cups water
  • 1/3 cup vodka
  • 1 can (5 ounce) poblano chiles (in adobo sauce)
  • 3 jalapeno peppers, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons ground black pepper, to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat a large pot.

  • Step 2: Add oil and meat.

  • Step 3: Brown on all sides.

  • Step 4: Place in the crockpot, add tomatoes.

  • Step 5: Add corn, garlic, onions, chiles and beans.

  • Step 6: Add seasonings. Stir.

  • Step 7: Blend the jalapeno and poblano chiles, vodka, pepper and water together and add the "Firewater" to the crockpot and cover.

  • Step 8: Cook for 6 hours until meat is tender, stirring occasionally. you may need to add more water.
