  • 24 ounces boneless skinless chicken breasts (four 6 ounce breasts)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 whole (8 ounce) yellow onion (peeled and cut into thin wedges)
  • 1 whole (6 ounce) pear (peeled, cored and cut into 1/4-inch slices)
  • 2 tablespoons dry white wine
  • 1 whole (7 ounce) orange (grated zest and juice)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat the soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, and ginger in a large nonstick skillet over

  • Step 2: Medium heat until the sugar melts, about 3 minutes.

  • Step 3: Season the chicken with salt and pepper and add to the skillet. Cook 3 minutes per side.

  • Step 4: Add the onion, pear, wine, orange zest and juice. Cover, reduce heat to low, and cook until cooked through, 12 to 15 minutes.

  • Step 5: Transfer the chicken and pear slices to plates.

  • Step 6: Simmer the sauce until thickened, 1 to 2 minutes, and pour over the chicken.
