The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound chorizo sausage (9 links)
  • 2 poblano peppers, seeded and minced
  • 2 cups tomato sauce (Spanish style)
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro, minced
  • 3 slices (3 ounces) cheddar cheese (halved diagonally)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven 400°F.

  • Step 2: Remove sausage from casings and shape into 6 burgers.

  • Step 3: Place a tablespoon or so of minced pepper in center of each burger and press into meat.

  • Step 4: Combine sauce and cilantro and spoon over burgers.

  • Step 5: Bake uncovered, basting occasionally, for 20-25 minutes, or until completely cooked.

  • Step 6: Place a piece of cheese on top of each burger just before serving.
