Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 12 ounces yellow onions (2 cups, chopped)
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Cloves, ground (1 dash)
  • 4 cups tomato juice
  • 2 cans (15 ounce) kidney beans (drained)
  • 16 ounces cooked spaghetti pasta (hot cooked, drained and slightly buttered)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook the beef, onions and garlic in a large (6 qt.) stockpot over medium-high heat, until the beef is well-browned, stirring frequently to break up the meat. Drain any fat.

  • Step 2: Add the chili powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Cook and stir for 2-3 minutes.

  • Step 3: Add tomato juice and heat to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes.

  • Step 4: Stir in beans. Cover and cook for 15 minutes on low, stirring occasionally.

  • Step 5: Serve over spaghetti and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
