The ingredients are:
  • 2 teaspoons instant dry yeast
  • 3 1/2 cups flour (15.75 ounces)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a large bowl mix the yeast into the flour. Add the rest of the ingredients. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and allow to sit for 30 minutes to allow the flour to hydrate.

  • Step 2: Preheat Oven to 375 degrees F. Generously flour a work surface and roll the dough out to 3/4" thickness and cut with biscuit cutter.

  • Step 3: Place on ungreased sheet and bake in 375 degree oven for 10-12 minutes.

  • Step 4: Note: The dough can be made in advance and stored in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
