Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup dark corn syrup
  • Pinch salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 5 tablespoons butter (very soft but not melted)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups pecans, coarsely broken
  • 1 unbaked (9-inch) deep-dish pie shell

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat toven to 350 degrees F.

  • Step 2: In saucepan combine sugar, salt and both corn syrups; bring to a medium simmer, then simmer 2 to 3 minutes; remove from heat then slightly cool (about 10 minutes).

  • Step 3: In large bowl whisk the eggs, then pour in the syrup mixture and butter whisking constantly until very well blended.

  • Step 4: Mix in vanilla and pecans, then pour into crust.

  • Step 5: Bake for about 45 minutes or until JUST set (overbaking will created a hard center)
