Step 1: In a saucepan place the strawberries and the sugar and let them stand until juice is released, stirring occasionally (15 minutes).
Step 2: Over high heat cook strawberry mixture for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in marmalade and cinnamon stick pieces and bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and cook until mixture is thick enough to coat a spoon, stirring occasionally (15 minutes).
Step 3: Transfer to a bowl and refrigerate until cold; cover and keep refrigerated.
