  • 1 clove garlic (processed through garlic press)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups beef stock (good quality)
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon mustard (prepared)
  • 1 bay leaf

How to Make

  • Step 1: Melt the butter in a sauce pan and add the mushrooms and garlic, cook until mushrooms start to soften and sweat, about 5 minutes.

  • Step 2: Whisk together the beef stock, corn starch and mustard and pour into the sauce pan.

  • Step 3: Toss in bay leaf and bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer until thickened.

  • Step 4: Remove bay leaf and serve.
