Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 6 (42 ounces) dried shiitake mushrooms (broken up)
  • 2 (6 ounces) carrots (cut in coins)
  • 1 can (8 ounce) sliced bamboo shoots (drained)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 pound boneless chicken breast (two breasts, sliced)
  • 1/4 cup chopped yellow onions
  • 2 green onions (chopped)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dark sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili oil
  • 1 tablespoon pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper (to taste, I like it hot)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Soak mushrooms in chicken broth 30 minutes.

  • Step 2: In pan, bring chicken, carrots, mushrooms, bamboo shoots and onions to boil; turn down to simmer, add spices and oils, cook 30 minutes.

  • Step 3: Add green onions. Serve.

  • Step 4: Grate black pepper over top.
