Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 8 ounces bread loaf (unsliced French bread, half of a 16-ounce loaf)
  • 2 cans (12 ounce) fat-free evaporated (or 3 cups half and half)
  • 1/4 cup Kahlua (or other coffee liquor)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon espresso powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Toasted slivered almonds or pecans

How to Make

  • Step 1: Place a a trivet in crock pot.

  • Step 2: Grease an 8-10 cup baking dish that will fit into a 4-5-quart crock pot.

  • Step 3: Cut away crusts from bread and discard.

  • Step 4: Cut bread into 1-inch cubes, set aside.

  • Step 5: In a blender or food processor, combine milk, Kahlua, eggs, sugar, espresso and cinnamon. Process until well mixed. Add to bread cubes. Stir to blend.

  • Step 6: Fill prepared baking dish with mixture, cover with foil.

  • Step 7: Add 2 cups HOT water to crock pot.

  • Step 8: Place mold on trivet in crock pot.

  • Step 9: Cover, cook on high for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until a knife inserted in pudding comes out clean.

  • Step 10: Serve warm or cold.

  • Step 11: Sprinkle with toasted almonds or pecans and some espresso powder.

  • Step 12: Whipped cream is also good!
