Step 1: Beat butter at medium speed of an electric mixer until fluffy. Gradually add the sugars; beating well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
Step 2: Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; add to the creamed mixture, beating well.
Step 3: Add the oats and the remaining ingredients, stirring well.
Step 4: Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on wire racks.
