Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 to 1 1/4 pounds Granny Smith apples (3-4 apples, I sliced mine thin)
  • Butter
  • Cinnamon sugar (sprinkled over the top too)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk (I use half and half)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon
  • Nutmeg, optional (I did add this sprinkled over the top)
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Peel and core apples, and cut in eighths. (I use my apple corer/slicer and then just peel the slices)

  • Step 2: Place in a baking dish, and dot with butter.

  • Step 3: Sprinkle generously with cinnamon-sugar.

  • Step 4: Bake in microwave on HIGH for about 10 minutes, or until fork inserts easily, stirring at least once.

  • Step 5: Remove from microwave, and set aside.

  • Step 6: In saucepan bring flour, sugar and milk to a boil over medium heat (it will be thick) stirring constantly.

  • Step 7: Remove from heat, add vanilla, and stir well.

  • Step 8: Pour over apples, and sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg, if you desire.

  • Step 9: Serve hot or let cool some.
