The ingredients are:
  • 8 cups vegetable broth
  • 4 cups chopped cabbage
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 carrot, chopped
  • 1 yellow onion (chopped)
  • 2 bay leaves (remove before pureeing)
  • 2 tablespoons dried chives
  • 2 teaspoons minced ginger (jarred)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce (Sriracha sauce)
  • Fresh ground pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: Place all the ingredients in a heavy bottom pot and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

  • Step 2: Reduce heat and simmer for a couple of hours.

  • Step 3: Remove the bay leaves and puree with an immersion blender. (If you do not have an immersion blender, puree this in batches in a blender. Do not use the blender cover or the heat will make this explode; cover the top with a towel and process the soup until pureed.)

  • Step 4: Enjoy!
