Step 1: Heat the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.

Step 3: Add the wine and cook, stirring frequently, until it had reduced to about 2 tablespoons.
Step 4: Stir in the flour, and cook for 2 minutes, then whisk in the broth, salt, and pepper, and cook until reduced.
Step 5: Run the sauce through a fine mesh strainer to remove any solids.
Step 6: Serve over steaks or hamburgers.
