  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 tablespoons anise (seed, ground and roasted)
  • 5 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup sour cream

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Step 2: Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan.

  • Step 3: In a bowl sift together the flour and salt; set aside.

  • Step 4: In another bowl using an electric mixer cram the butter with the sugar, vanilla, and anise seed until light.

  • Step 5: Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.

  • Step 6: Then add the dry ingredients alternately with the sour cream; scraping bowl well and mix until blended.

  • Step 7: Pour into prepared pan and bake for one hour or until cake is done. It will be golden and will spring back to the touch.
