Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2: Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan.
Step 3: In a bowl sift together the flour and salt; set aside.
Step 4: In another bowl using an electric mixer cram the butter with the sugar, vanilla, and anise seed until light.
Step 5: Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
Step 6: Then add the dry ingredients alternately with the sour cream; scraping bowl well and mix until blended.
Step 7: Pour into prepared pan and bake for one hour or until cake is done. It will be golden and will spring back to the touch.
