Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 to 2 1/2 pounds potatoes (5 medium russet potatoes, sliced about 1/8-inch thick, peel removed or left on)
  • 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced (small onion)
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • Seasoned salt (or white salt, seasoned is better)
  • Fresh ground black pepper
  • 3 teaspoons garlic powder (or to taste)
  • 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese, grated (can use more)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F, then set oven rack to lowest position and grease a 13 x 9-inch baking dish.

  • Step 2: Place 1/3 of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of the baking dish, over lapping slightly if desired, then sprinkle with salt, pepper and garlic powder.

  • Step 3: Sprinkle with some sliced onions, then drizzle lightly with melted butter.

  • Step 4: Repeat layering in the same matter ending up with a layer of potatoes.

  • Step 5: Drizzle the top layer of potatoes lightly with melted butter then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

  • Step 6: Bake uncovered for about 30-40 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and golden brown.
