Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 cup Stilton cheese, crumbled(or best-quality blue cheese at room temp & crumbled)
  • 16 ounces cream cheese (at room temp, two 8 ounce packages)
  • Salt, 1 dash
  • Fresh ground pepper
  • Cayenne pepper, 1 dash (optional)
  • 3 to 5 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 cup dates, diced (seeded & diced small)
  • 8 slices (8 ounces) bacon (thick slice preferred, crisp-fried & crumbled)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Using an electric mixer (blender or hand-held blender), combine both cheeses w/salt & pepper.

  • Step 2: When blended, add cream until dip reaches desired consistency.

  • Step 3: Fold in dates & bacon. Serve w/dippers and/or crackers of choice.

  • NOTE Although the recipe did not suggest this, I feel a chill time to allow the flavors to develop would be best & I think it would also be best if allowed to approach room temp b4 being served. My thoughts, but your choices
