Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 pounds chicken (fresh mixed pieces, bone in skin removed and discarded)
  • 5 cups water
  • 1 bunch green onions, chopped
  • 1 cup chopped carrots
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 2 tablespoons wild rice
  • 1 tablespoon chicken bouillon granules
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary, ground with mortar and pestle
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil

How to Make

  • Step 1: Place all the ingredients in a crock-pot and cook on high for 6 hours.

  • Step 2: Remove the chicken pieces and allow cooling just enough to handle.

  • Step 3: Remove and discard the bones; chop the chicken and return to crock-pot.

  • Step 4: Cook for another hour, adjust seasoning, ladle into bowls and serve.
