Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • BISCUITS
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for rolling out)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter (cold and cubed, 1 stick)
  • 1 cup cooked mashed sweet potato
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons milk
  • ORANGE HONEY BUTTER
  • 1 cup butter (softened, 2 sticks)
  • 3 tablespoons marmalade (orange)
  • 3 tablespoons honey

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 400° F.

  • Step 2: Lightly grease a baking sheet. In a medium bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly. Add sweet potato and milk, stirring with a fork until dry ingredients are moistened. (Dough will be sticky).

  • Step 3: Turn dough out onto a heavily floured surface, and knead lightly 4 or 5 times.

  • Step 4: Roll dough to 3/4 “ thickness; cut with a 2 1/2" round cutter. Place on prepared baking sheet. Bake 15 minutes, or until lightly browned. Serve with Orange honey butter.

  • Step 5: Orange Honey Butter: Combine all ingredients and serve with biscuits.
