Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 cans (16 ounces) refrigerated buttermilk biscuits (Pillsbury Grands)
  • Canola oil, for frying
  • VANILLA GLAZE
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • CHOCOLATE GLAZE
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup hot water

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a large pot heat approx 2 inches of oil to 350°F.

  • Step 2: With a pizza cutter, cut each biscuit into fourths.

  • Step 3: Set paper towels on a cookie sheet and place a cooling rack on top

  • Step 4: Drop biscuit pieces into heated oil about eight pieces at a time; cook for about five minutes flipping them half way to brown on both sides.

  • Step 5: Remove from oil and place on cooling rack to drain.

  • Step 6: Repeat for the rest of the dough.

  • Step 7: FOR THE VANILLA GLAZE: In a small bowl add milk and butter; microwave about 1 minute until butter is melted. Whisk in vanilla, confectioners' sugar and salt until smooth.

  • Step 8: Dip donuts in glaze and replace on the cooling rack to dry.

  • Step 9: FOR THE CHOCOLATE GLAZE: In medium saucepan, melt butter. Remove from heat and whisk in the powdered sugar and cocoa powder till well mixed. Gradually whisk in the hot water, adding a few drops if it gets too thick at any time.

  • Step 10: Dip donuts in glaze and replace on the cooling rack to dry.
