Step 1: Preheat oven to 350F. Line an 8-inch square pan with parchment paper, overlapping the ends of the pan on 2 sides. Spray with cooking spray.
Step 2: Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and add both chocolates; stir constantly until chocolate is melted. Add granulated sugar to chocolate and stir over low heat 1 minute. Cool for 5 minutes.
Step 3: In a large mixing bowl using an electric mixer on high speed, beat the eggs until very light. Add brown sugar and continue beating 2 minutes.
Step 4: Add melted chocolate to egg mixture. Scrape sides of bowl and stir in vanilla, 2 tablespoons of the Southern Comfort and salt. Stir in the flour.
Step 5: Pour into prepared pan and arrange pecan halves space evenly (they should be in what will be the center of each brownie when cut).
Step 6: Bake 28 minutes or until set but not dry. Let cool in pan 20 minutes.
Step 7: Brush remaining Southern Comfort over top. Let cool to room temperature. Transfer pan to refrigerator to chill a few hours. (this is important, as it changes the texture of the brownies).
Step 8: Lift from pan using overhanging ends of paper. Remove paper and put brownies on a cutting board. Cut into 12 squares.
