Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • Rye bread (1 package party-rye bread or pumpernickel - the bread that is ~2" square like Pepperidge Farms)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • Dry Italian dressing mix (one package, like Good Seasons)
  • 1 large cucumber (or 2 small cucumbers)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Start with party rye bread frozen - it makes it easier to use.

  • Step 2: Let the cream cheese soften a bit and mix it and the dry salad dressing mix together.

  • Step 3: Spread the cream cheese mix on the party rye. Use enough so you can taste it (don't skimp).

  • Step 4: **At this point you can layer them in a bag with wax paper between and freeze till you need them.

  • Step 5: Slice cucumber relatively thin.

  • Step 6: Top each piece of bread with a cucumber slice.

  • Step 7: **if you froze the breads, lay them on a plate, add cucumber slice, and then let thaw for about 30 minutes.
