Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 steaks (2-3 pound) beef flank
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon pepper (I added)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Rub salt into both steak, both sides, then score steak, top and bottom. Place steak in large ziplock bag (or 2 if needed.)

  • Step 2: Combine marinade ingredients and pour over steak. Squish bag so steak is evenly coated, chill overnight in fridge.

  • Step 3: Remove steak from fridge 2 hours before using. Then preheat grill, grill steaks 6-8 minutes per side.

  • Step 4: Let steaks sit for a full 5 minutes before slicing. Then cut across the grain into diagonal slices.

  • Step 5: If desired, pour marinade from ziplock bag to saucepan and simmer for 10 minutes, then serve over steak.
