Step 1: Lightly brown ground beef and onions; drain fat. Add salt, pepper, tomato soup, and green beans. Pour into a greased 1-1/2 quart casserole.
Step 2: Mash hot potatoes; add salt and pepper to taste.
Step 3: Add warm milk and egg; mix.
Step 4: Drop mashed potatoes in mounds on top of meat mixture; spread if desired.
Step 5: Add shredded cheddar cheese on top, or mix into potatoes.
Step 6: Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until hot and bubbly.
