  • 1 1/3 pounds ground turkey
  • 1 can (4 ounce) green chilies (diced, drained)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon oil (canola oil)
  • 3 ounces Monterey Jack pepper cheese
  • 8 ounces bread buns (4 whole wheat kaiser rolls)
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 red onion, sliced
  • Lettuce leaves (4 Romaine leaves)
  • 1 tomato, whole (sliced)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Mix ground turkey and green chilies together. Add salt and pepper.

  • Step 2: Heat skillet with 2 or 3 spritzes canola oil.

  • Step 3: Make 4 patties so they fit in a bun.

  • Step 4: Fry on low heat covered. Flip burgers; add cheese. Cover again until cheese melts.

  • Step 5: On kaiser roll, start with sliced avocado; add sliced red onion, lettuce leaf, and sliced tomato.

  • Step 6: Make sandwiches; cut in half.
