Step 1: Soften yeast in warm water with honey.
Step 2: Combine milk and water and shortening. Scald.
Step 3: Mix in sugar and salt. Stir until melted.
Step 4: When lukewarm, add 2 cups flour. Add yeast mixture, then oats.
Step 5: Add enough remaining flour to make a soft dough. Knead until smooth and satiny (about 10 minutes).
Step 6: Place in greased bowl and brush top with melted shortening, let rise 1 hour.
Step 7: Punch down let rest 10 minutes.
Step 8: Shape into 2 loaves in greased 9 by 5 by 3 inch pans.
Step 9: Brush with melted shortening. Let rise about 45 minutes.
Step 10: Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.
