Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 8 ounces rice (1 cup dry)
  • 2 tablespoons oil (olive oil or butter)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/8 teaspoon saffron (powdered, or 1 1/2 pinch saffron threads)
  • 3 cups vegetable broth (or chicken broth or bouillon)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook rice in oil or butter, stirring, until opaque.

  • Step 2: Add salt, saffron and bouillon

  • Step 3: Bring to a boil, immediately turn heat to low, cover, and simmer 16-20 minutes, until rice is tender. (If after 16-18 minutes you find more liquid is needed, add water as necessary, up to 1 cup maximum)
