Step 1: Place bratwursts in pan just large enough to hold them in a single layer.
Step 2: Pour beer into pan, cover and bring to a good simmer. Cook until plump and starting to split.
Step 3: In the meantime, saute onion and pepper in oil over medium-high heat. You want them to caramelize slightly, but not steam.
Step 4: Serve hot with a grainy, Dijon mustard.
