Ingredients

  • 3 cups confectioners'sugar
  • 1 cup butter (use salted butter at room temperature and DO NOT USE MARGARINE!)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons whipping cream (or as you need)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cream together the sugar with butter on low speed until well blended. Increase speed to medium and beat for another 2-3 minutes. Add vanilla and cream and continue to beat on medium speed for 1 minute more, adding more cream if needed for desired spreading/piping consistency.

  • Step 2: Scoop into a piping bag and pipe onto cupcakes in desired designs or spread onto a cooled cake.
