Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 6 cups diced apples (1/8 inch cubes)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon butter
  • 1 package (1.75 ounce) powdered fruit pectin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a large kettle, combine the apples, water and butter

  • Step 2: Cook and stir over low heat until apples are soft

  • Step 3: Stir in pectin and bring to a rolling boil and stir constantly

  • Step 4: Add the sugars, cinnamon and nutmet and return to a rolling boil for 1 minute while continuing to stir constantly

  • Step 5: Remove from the heat and skim off any foam

  • Step 6: Ladle hot jam into hot sterilized jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace. Adjust caps and process for 10 minutes in a boiling hot water bath
