Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 leek, washed and finely chopped
  • 3 bacon slices, finely chopped
  • 1 cup cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon sambal oelek (crushed chilli in a jar)
  • 1/8 cup fresh basil, minced
  • 1/8 cup fresh oregano,minced
  • 1/8 cup fresh parsley, minced
  • 1/8 cup fresh cilantro, minced
  • 1 zucchini, chopped
  • 1 yellow squash, chopped
  • 1 cup fresh broccoli, chopped
  • 1 cup peas
  • 16 ounce dry spaghetti
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: Boil pasta and drain once al dente.

  • Step 2: Meanwhile, gently heat butter and oil and sauté garlic, leek, bacon and finely diced spring vegetables for five minutes or so until softish.

  • Step 3: Add sambal oelek then cream.

  • Step 4: Allow to gently simmer for a few minutes, then add peas and herbs.

  • Step 5: Pour over hot pasta, stir through, add lots of pepper
