Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 can (8 ounce) pineapple slices (in juice)
  • 1 can (15 ounce) pineapple slices (in juice)
  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup mixed nuts, chopped
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 6 maraschino cherries, halved
  • 1 box (18 ounces) yellow cake mix (or 18 ounces white cake mix)
  • 1/2 cup Dream Whip Topping (1 envelope)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Drain pineapple reserving 2 tablespoons juice.

  • Step 2: Combine brown sugar and butter in a 13 x 9- inch pan.

  • Step 3: Arrange pineapple slices in pan--place a cherry halve in each slice.

  • Step 4: Cut side up in center of each slice.

  • Step 5: Sprinkle with reserved juice and nuts.

  • Step 6: Combine cake mix Dream Whip envelope eggs and water in large mixer bowl for 4 minutes. Carefully spoon over pineapple.

  • Step 7: Bake at 350° for 50 to 55 minutes or until top springs back when pressed.

  • Step 8: Let stand for 10 minutes, then invert and let stand 1 minute then remove from pan.
