Step 1: Set oven 350F.
Step 2: Cream shortening and sugar. add eggs, applesauce, baking powder and vanilla; beat.
Step 3: Add flour; beat.
Step 4: Grease a 10 inch springform pan. Add in half of the batter. Spread guava slices all over batter.
Step 5: Spread the rest of batter covering fruit.
Step 6: Bake 45 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
Step 7: Mix up glaze spread on warm cake (I didnt use it and liked the cake fine).
Step 8: Let cool cause fruit is MOLTEN.
