Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 large egg
  • 4 bread slices
  • 1/4 cup yellow onions, minced
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • TOPPING
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup bell peppers, minced (optional)
  • SIDE
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni, cooked
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: Mix ground beef, egg, bread, onion, pepper, and applesauce together.

  • Step 2: Make 15 balls; place balls in a casserole dish.

  • Step 3: Bake at 350 degrees Fahreneheit for 15 minutes; drain fat.

  • Step 4: Mix ketchup, water. Add ketchup/water mixture over the bell pepper; this step wasn't in original recipe but I like it this way.

  • Step 5: Bake 30 minutes more.

  • Step 6: Add pepper to cooked macaroni as soon as drained. I can't have butter but you can add some if you wish.
