Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 10 egg whites
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 6 egg yolks (beaten til lemon colored)
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 2 cups cake flour (or 3 cups)
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 cup cake flour

How to Make

  • Step 1: To the egg whites, add salt and cream of tartar. Beat until stiff

  • Step 2: Very gradually add sugar, fold in gently.

  • Step 3: Divide into 2 equal parts.

  • Step 4: First part fold in yolks.

  • Step 5: Put zest in 2 cups cake flour. Fold into yellow part

  • Step 6: Second, fold in 1/2 cup flour and almond extract.

  • Step 7: In ungreased angel food pan, alternate white and orange.

  • Step 8: A spoon of white a spoon of yellow

  • Step 9: Bake in slow oven 300 degrees im guessing 1 hour.

  • Step 10: Invert pan after baking 1 hour.
