  • 1 pound green green beans, trimmed and halved crosswise
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, freshly cracked

How to Make

  • Step 1: Place green beans in a pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil for about 3 minutes, or until green beans are cooked, but still retain their color and have an al-dente texture. Drain and rinse.

  • Step 2: Wipe down the same pot you used, then use it to melt the butter over medium heat. Add the breadcrumbs and stir constantly for about 2 minutes, or until the breadcrumb-butter mixture turns golden.

  • Step 3: Lower heat to very low and stir in the garlic cloves, salt and pepper; fry for 1 minutes while stirring. Remove from heat.

  • Step 4: Place green beans in a serving bowl. Pour butter-breadcrumb mixture over, and toss a bit to coat the green beans. Serve.
