Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound beef tenderloin (sliced into 4 steaks)
  • MARINADE
  • 2 ounces scotch whiskey
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon crushed peppercorn
  • SAUCE
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon peppercorn, roughly crushed
  • 1 tablespoon brandy
  • 1/4 cup cream
  • 1 shallot, minced
  • Garnish
  • Texas toast (4 slices)
  • 2 tablespoons garlic butter

How to Make

  • Step 1: Marinate steaks in marinade for 2 hours.

  • Step 2: Saute steaks in butter; remove from pan when cooked to doneness you like.

  • Step 3: Add mushrooms to pan. add shallots and peppercorns.

  • Step 4: Add brandy OFF stove.

  • Step 5: Deglaze pan, scraping browned bits off bottom of pan. if you dont want to waste marinade add here. Don't ignite; fire scares me.

  • Step 6: Add cream. meanwhile butter both sides of texas toast ( which is thicker cut bread )and grill until browned on both sides make toast points by cutting in half

  • Step 7: Reduce; pour over steaks.
