Step 1: Grease inside of 8 (1 pint) wide mouth canning jars.
Step 2: Cream shortening with sugar. Beat in eggs, pumpkin, and water.
Step 3: Combine flour, spices, baking soda and powder. Add to pumpkin mixture.
Step 4: Stir in nuts.
Step 5: Pour into jars until 1/2 full.
Step 6: Bake uncovered for 45 minutes at 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 7: When done, remove jars and wipe down.
Step 8: Seal with new lids; the heat will seal the jars.
