Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (sifted)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 teaspoons cardamom, crushed or powdered
  • 1 large egg (beaten, optional glaze)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cream butter and sugar until light and then add the egg, beating it until dough is thick.

  • Step 2: Stir in cream.

  • Step 3: In a separate bowl sift dry ingredients together (flour - salt) and stir into butter mixture with the cardamom. Stir until a stiff dough form. Chill dough for at least one hour.

  • Step 4: Shape dough into small balls ( 1 inch in diameter) and arrange on baking sheets.

  • Step 5: Bake in a 375 degree oven for 10-15 minutes or until golden.

  • Step 6: If you want you can brush balls with a beaten egg.
