Step 1: Cream butter and sugar until light and then add the egg, beating it until dough is thick.
Step 2: Stir in cream.
Step 3: In a separate bowl sift dry ingredients together (flour - salt) and stir into butter mixture with the cardamom. Stir until a stiff dough form. Chill dough for at least one hour.
Step 4: Shape dough into small balls ( 1 inch in diameter) and arrange on baking sheets.
Step 5: Bake in a 375 degree oven for 10-15 minutes or until golden.
Step 6: If you want you can brush balls with a beaten egg.
